| Descripción | SUMMAERY:
As a Microfinance & Business Development Advisor, I am responsible to offer value-added technical advisory services to Plan program staff and partners in all phases of program/project design, planning, implementation and evaluation in the Livelihood domain, in particular in Microfinance.
SPECIFICALLY:
•Provide strategic directions and ensure quality programming in Microfinance and Business Development interventions.
•Builds the capacity of Plan field staff, partners and community based organizations in Micro-enterprise related issues.
•Maintains current knowledge of policy and preferred practice of Micro finance within Plan and ensure that programs are consistent and ensure that the activities and steps necessary to support the development of sustainable programs are followed.
•Works with Plan International Ethiopia CMT (Country Management Team) to ensure that Microfinance is integrated into the Country Strategic Plan (CSP), including the CPOs (Country Program Outlines).
•Identifies organizations with financially sustainable approaches to Microfinance and employ approaches and methodologies that are effective in working with poor women.
•Ensure that all Microfinance related projects /programs are technically sound and are aligned to the CSP, CPOs, Plan Program Principles and CCCD (Child Centered Community Development) approach.
•Work with Plan International Ethiopia staff to ensure coordination with all necessary systems and policies of the organization, coordinate with REA (Research & Evaluation Advisor) on identification of appropriate baseline indicators and provide information to the Grant Coordinator to prepare proposals for National Organizations to secure funding.
•Facilitates and support the design and planning of Microfinance activities between Plan and Partner organizations. These activities should be designed in such a way as to focus socio-economic benefits on women and children and promote the capacity and financial sustainability of partner organizations.
•Monitors the implementation of Microfinance activities with partner organizations through visits to the field, the review of MIS documents, budget analysis and program reports and recommend change as appropriate.
•Ensure quality & timeliness of grant reports, concept note and proposal preparation.
•Ensure partnerships and networks with NGOs, Government bodies and CBOs to enhance poverty alleviation initiatives.
•Establish a country specific national data base, as well as provide support to Plan PU’s (Program Unit) in organizing Microfinance and Business Development data base. Identify, document and disseminate best practices within and outside Plan, to staff and other development partners.
•Maintains a working relationship with Plan’s MFTT (Microfinance Technical Team) and represent Plan International Ethiopia in Plan’s global Microfinance network and any RESA (Region of Eastern and Southern Africa) network activities.
•Undertake other related assignments provided by PSM (Program Support Manger).
