| Description | This study was commissioned by the Rural Finance Working Group of MicroNed, which is a network organisation of the Co-Financing Organizations (CFOs) ICCO, Oxfam-Novib, Hivos, and Cordaid. The aim of this study is to learn from each others support practices in the area of rural finance. This study is one of the activities of the Rural Finance Working Group to improve practices and enhance policy making in the field of rural finance. The study includes a quantitative portfolio analysis of rural MFIs, an overview of CFO policies, institutional setup and supporting instruments, and several case studies highlighting successes and challenges of different supporting approaches of the CFOs. |
