| Description | This film, which is narrated in English but contains significant sections spoken in the local language, introduces the various institutions which offer financial services to small and micro entrepreneurs in rural Ghana. These include the rural and community banks, the credit union associations, members of the susu collectors cooperative and NGO based microfinance institutions. Apart from introducing these organisations, the film explains the various products and services that may be available and how they can help people. The benefit of depositing savings safely in a supervised financial institution is illustrated by showing how money kept at home may be stolen. A similar analogy is used to show the benefits of money transfer services and of having somewhere to store valuables safely. Various small entrepreneurs describe how their businesses have benefited when they obtained loans. The concept of credit with education is also introduced by some microfinance facilitators talking to a group of clients. |
