Rural Finance is about providing financial services for people living in rural areas. This Learning Centre aims to assist organisations in developing countries to build their capacity to deliver improved financial services which meet the needs of rural households and businesses.


A reference library of rural finance and related material organized under different topics: policy making, client advice, conference papers and others.


A selection of training, study materials and multimedia developed or adapted by the RFLC, selected together with information about courses and organisations that offer training.

Innovative Agricultural SME Finance models

The report identifies innovations that can help bankers in developing countries to finance agricultural small and medium enterprises.  The report highlights the most promising examples of innovative financing, risk mitigation and distribution models drawn from a stocktaking exercise of 100 global cases. The report primarily addresses private sector financial institutions in developing countries and therefore focuses on models from the private sector perspective.
